The small wimpy trees blew in the wind, their trunks swaying and leaning to one side. The few leaves rustled. In the middle of the small forest lay a white she-cat. Her semi-long fur fell around her and her yellow eyes looked off into the distance.
Aral had found that this was one of the only safe places to be when watching the cats that she called 'Quick Ones'. The trees provided her the only saftey and protection. Here, she could hide in the small bushes and around the sides of trees. She had studied the area well, so if she needed to run she'd know where to go.
Aral sat patiently in the shade, waiting to see if anything around her would happen. The only thing she could see as of now were the small bugs and occasional mouse scurrying. Something would come soon though, she could just tell.

Wolfheart! I think I see something over here!
A beautiful smokey gray she-cat bounded over towards a small hole in the ground, possibly rabbit. A qide smile spread across her face as two pairs of tiny black eyes peered out from underneath tufts of grass. They wiggled their pink noses at her before disappearing into the burrow.
Aw, they were so cute! Wolfheart, you missed the little baby bunnies!
Wolfheart, a handsome dark gray tabby tom, walked over to where his sister was fascinated with something only she could be fascinated with. His light blue eyes peered into the hole, but he only saw a dark circle. Wolfheart shook his head, amazed by how silly his sister could be.
Foxtail, there is obviously no.....
He trailed off catching sight of something way more interesting. The shape of a cat rested atop a hill, lying beneath a large tree.
Foxdtail! Do you see that? An intruder! Boy, I can't wait to rat it out. you go back to camp, I'll deal with this.
Foxtail looked over at the cat, lying there peacefully. She wanted to help out, but her brother desparetly wanted to do this. After all, they were going to announce the new deputy soon. This was his chance.
All right, go have your fun. Don't get into any trouble though!
She bounded off towards camp, puzzlement filling her thoughts mingling with curiosity.
Wolfheart padded off back towards where his sister left, in case the cat was watching. The tall grass made it easier to crawl without being noticed, so he made his way up the hill.

Aral noticed the two cats the moment they appeared. She didn't attepmt to move though, or she would obviously be seen. She caught her breath and waited. Had they seen her? The she-cat left, leaving only the tom behind. She got to her paws, hoping she wouldn't be seen if she hadn't already, and she backed up a couple of steps. Her heart thudded against her chest as she waited to see what would happen.

Wolfheart crept forward, all of his senses on high. He was right in front of the she-cat, barely a rabbit hop away. He crouched, the leadpt forward, snarling.
Get off LightClan territory, kittypet!
The fact was, he didn't even know if this cat was a kittypet or not. It looked like one anyways. Didn't matter to him.

Aral threw her head up and gave out a laugh. Her whole body shook with the laughter, her semi-long white fur flowling. She gazed at the tom and with laughter in her voice spoke.
Kittypet? Do I look like a kittypet to you? Tell me, have you ever seen a kittypet?
She shut her eyes, purring. This tom obvioulsy didn't know what he was talking about. She remembered what he had said though and went to thinking about that one word that she didn't understand: lightclan. For all she knew it could be two words, but whatever it was it didn't make sense to her. She cleared it from her mind though and kept her thoughts on the subject.

Wolfheart stared at his paws, embarassment in his eyes. He felt somewhat odd, a feeling he had never felt before. It made him solemn, and somewhat silly. Whoever this cat was, she was very pretty.
Sorry, I make that mistake a lot. It's just us clan cats, whenever we see an intruder, we call them kittypet, since it is sort of an insult to a clan cat.
As Wolfheart said this, his stomach did a flip-flop when he saw her eyes. They looked beautiful...

There was the one word again: clan. It seemed to bother her to hear it for some reason. She furrowed her brow and then asked the tom about it.
Clan cats? Us clan cats? What are clan cats?
She thought she might know. Those different groups of cats she had each given names for were probably what he was talking about. Were they all 'clans'?

Wolfheart stared at her, obviously shocked.
Is she kidding? Who doesn't know what a clan cat is?! I'll answer her anyways.
He tried not to grin, but couldn't help by to do so. His light blue eyes sparkled in amusement as he offered an explination to her.
Well, you see, a clan cat is a cat that lives among the forest. Thay usually put specific scent markings to signify their territory. You happened to cross our border, which made me think you were an intruder. We live by the ways of our ancestors - you know, the dead cats? They're called StoneClan. There's four different clans. A clan is baisically a group of cats that have particular traits. LightClan - that's my clan - is unusually fast. You seem to be too.
Wolfheart paused for a moment, staring at her. He wondered why she hadn't heard of the clans before?
RockClan is unusually strong, and SpiderClan have the best tree-climbers. And SweetClan, well, they're just a mix of everything.

Ahh...
Aral's voice was distant and unfocused. So the cats that she called 'Quick Ones' was LightClan. And probably the ones that she called 'Strong Ones' was RockClan. The last ones she had no name for yet, that was SpiderClan. Then SweetClan she had never seen before. Or maybe SweetClan was SpiderClan? Aral furrowed her brow in confusion, but quickly wiped it away.
So then, how many cats are we talking about. Like, how many cats are in each clan?
Aral had never been close to more then six cats in her life. She had never seen so many different types of cats either until she came to this forest. She thingyed her head to one side in curiousity, waiting to hear what the tom would say.

Wolfheart began to think about this in his head, also wondering how many cats were in each clan. Well, there's about nine or ten cats in each clan at the moment, but that can change to fifteen or twenty in a matter of weeks. His blue eyes twinkled with the sun's rays, revealing a sort of happy look.

Aral was amazed. Really? So many cats in one place? She was highly confused and showed it with her eyes.
So do the cats live all over the territory? How many cats do you live with?
She couldn't imagine living in a place with more then four cats. They obviously didn't live together. Her mouth was in a crooked line, she was utterly confused.
When Aral was confused, her tail twitched, but obly the tip. Her brow was always furroed and her eyes had a distant look to them.

Wolfheart smiled at her, his eyes sparkling. He didn't often get to explain things. It was usually Foxtail or another warrior that did that..
Yes, we all live together. Our place is within the clan border, uisually called a camp. You know, a cat outside the clans may join a clan...I can teach you about clan life if you want to.

Aral smiled lightly, but shook her head. She averted her eyes to her paws and spoke in a quiet voice.
I don't think I'd be able to live with so many cats at once. I'd have to get to know everybody, and probably wouldn't have much time alone, or time to do what I wanted. I dunno...
She shook her head again and sighed. The tom was handsome and kind, and it seemed like it was rude to say no to his offer. So she tilted her head and looked up at him, catching his blue eyes with her yellow ones.
It would intrest me to learn of the clans though. They seem different, and it might be fun to get to know how you live.

Wolfheart's heart sank when she politely said she did not want to join the clans. It lifted again as she changed her mind and told him that she would learn about the clans.
Well, I have no idea where to start. What would you like to learn about?

Aral tilted her head to one side and looked into the corners of her eyes. She gave that look that you give when your thinking. Her tail flipped from side to side while she thought.
Well, I really don't know what there is to learn about. Um...
She tried hard to think of something that maybe the clans would do, but nothing came to her mind. They must live alot differently then she lived, but what kind of question was that. 'How do you live?' It sounded stupid. She shrugged her shoulders.
What do you want to teach me?
