Katara dropped her kill into a large bush upon entering the copse, shaking her sleek, brown tabby fur to reduce the rain droplets that had populated across her back. The water just ran down her sides, not touching or affecting the warm skin, hidden beneath her pretty pelt. She turned to Edward and Storm, who were shivering and sopping wet. Katara stifled a laugh and quickly prepared nests for them. Glancing up at the sky, the sun -- or moon -- were hidden beneath a thick layer of heavy, rain filled black clouds. Her pretty dark jade eyes were beginning to droop in tiredness, so either she needed an afternoon nap, or it was later than she thought. It was very dark outside, so Katara was going with the second one.
"I guess we're staying here tonight!"
Katara meowed brightly, more happier than she felt.

After Katara built Ed a nest, she stumbled forward and colapased in it, nothing more then a heap of wet fur with a heartbeat. She closed her eyes, sleep calling to her.
Storm murmered his thanks to Katara before sitting and cleaning his pelt. His tongue ran along his white and black fur, clearing away the cold water. Once he was done, he looked at Ed. His eyes brimmed with worry as he realized that she hadn't even bothered to get the water from her pelt. His young friends pelt was still damp with water and her eyes were closed. Storm looked at Katara.
"I think that something is wrong with Ed..."

Katara nodded in her agreement, replying,
"What are we going to do, Storm? This could be worse than we think..."
[Sorry about the short post, it's been a long morning...]

(That's ok, I seem to be having a writer's block today... ) Storm crawled to Ed's side, his green eyes glased in nervousness. He slowly began licking Ed's pelt, cleaning away the water, and hoping to get a reaction from his friend. Nothing happened. He began licking faster, gazing at her face to see if her eyes flickered open.
When again nothing happened, the young black and white cat called to her, his voice filled with exasperation. Still nothing happened. Tears filled Storm's emerald eyes as he looked from Storm to Katara.
"I don't know what we should do, Katara. We need help..."((Should they like go to a clan to get help from a medicine cat?))

[Sure! They can go to LightClan! That's the closest, and Teardrops said Oceansand needs something to do...]
Katara's heart ached at the sight of her friend sick and Storm so miserable. She could almost feel herself breaking under the pressure of finding a cure for Ed. She padded away from her nest, pacing around the copse as she thought. The Clans!
Storm, you know about the feral clans that live around here, don't you?
Katara asked, the excitement -- and fear -- rising within her.
Well, they have healers! We could take Ed to them! Their Medicine Cat could take care of her!

Storm looked at Katara questioningly. But suddenly he understood and his throat seemed to constrict with excitment and nervousness.
"Do you think that they would take care of her?"
The black and white tom stood, his paws kneading the groud as he glanced from one of his friends to the other. Ed rolled over in the nest and tried to open her eyes, but she couldn't. She let a small whine rise from her throat. Storm? Katara? Where are you? Ed thought, unable to speak.

I'm sure they will.
Katara replied. The she-loner knew the clans well. Katara knew each of their speacial abilites and hunting techniques. She understood their laws and their belief in "StoneClan", though Katara didn't understand the higher power. She monitored them often, when she was alone. The she-cat liked watching the clans. Somehow, she felt connected, as if, she belonged to them. Yet she remained an outsider, invisible to the clan cats.
And that is how I will stay...

"Should we move her now? I mean, while the storm is still over us?" All Storm new about the clans was that they didn't like tresspassers. And to get Ed to the medicine cat would be tresspassing big time. Would they chase them from the territory, or let complete strangers into their camp?

We-ll
Katara meowed, thinking deep thoughts.
Based on Edward's condition, we should get help as soon as possible. She's been unconcious for some time now, and who know's what damage has already happened.
Katara concluded. She glanced out of the exit. The rain was letting up -- for the moment. She saw the Cobblestone Path from the enterance to the copse. It led right through to the LightClan/RockClan border where the Path became a Gravel Path.
Let's go. Follow me.

Storm propped up Ed and swung her over his shoulder. Since she was only about 5 1/2 moons old, it wasn't that hard. He then turned to Katara, and padded after her.
