Sun filtered into the den. It was about sun-down, and the den was empty except for one cat. Blizzardheart sat at the back of the den, a rabbit clutched under her paws. There was already one bite out of it, but that was it. She didn't seem to interested in eating it anymore though. She was looking around the den, wondering why it was so empty at this time of day. Usually cats were just starting to settle down. She knew they were low on cats, but she also knew that it was the apprentices they needed and not warriors; they had plenty of them. Blizzardheart thingyed her head and looked down at the rabbit, she mine as well eat it and then try to go find some other cats; maybe something important was going on.

Crossflash strolled in, glancing from side to side as she spotted a half eaten piece of prey in the paws of a warrior she-cat. "That is where my rabbit went, oh well, I guess I can hunt for another one." She noticed that rabbit eariler that day and thought it would make a good meal as the sun drowned into the earth. Suddenly, her expression changed, noticing that the only cat resting in warriors den was Blizzardheart, and she didn't look like the happiest of the happiest. Padding toward the she-cat, Crossflash mewed, her voice gentle with a hint of concern, "What is wrong, my dear, you should be enjoying the rabbit..." She trailed off and looked at Blizzardheart with kind eyes, wondering what this was all about.

Blizzardheart snapped her head in the direction of Crossflash. She hadn't noticed the medicine cat enter the den. She didn't catch the words she said about the rabbit, only the last words, the question she asked.
Blizzardheart shrugged and spoke.
It's just the den should be stirring with life. The clan is a bit small now. No apprentices... Do you think it's that big of a problem?
Blizzardheart wasn't usually so sweet, and she didn't usually share her thoughts or feelings so easily. This was the medicine cat though, if anybody, she could answer her questions.

Crossflash flickered her eyes in sorrow at the she-cat, wondering what to say. Narrowing her eyes, she mewed kindly, "It depends how you look at it...Yes, no cats are in training to become the glorious warriors they can be, but the warriors will have their free time to patrol and hunt-making the clan stronger...and protecting the clan with more ferocity then ever before." Crossflash thought of SpiderClan and her absoulute hatred toward the other clans. Anger sparked her blinking eyes for a heartbeat and she shrugged, mewing toward Blizzardheart, "Now, are you going to have that rabbit or shall I devour it for you?"

Blizzardhearts stomach growled as if on cue and smiled up at Crossflash.
We can share.
She suggested. Her icy eyes sparkled, medicine cats somehow always made you feel better. They knew what to say and when to say it. It was a gift they seemed to have.

Crossflash gave her a small smiled and joked slyly, ruffling her fur. Her muddy eyes seem to glisten slightly as she mewed her words. "Don't think you can use the weather to get the bigger share, Blizzardheart!" Padding toward her, she could sense that the she-cat felt better. Crossflash splashed through pleasant thoughts weaving in her mind. This is when being a medicine cat felt most rewarding, when she ate and debated among a happy and fierce clan. Crossflash settled down next to her newfound friend and felt the warmth of Blizzardheart's fur. Lunging forward, she took a bite of the rabbit, savoring it's delicious flavor.

Blizzardheart watched the medicine cat bite fiercly into the rabbit, but she waited. She looked off into the distance now, a smile on her face. I actually was nice for once.... I actually shared my feelings. And the weird thing is is that, it feels good...
Blizzardheart lowered her head and took a small delightful bite out of the rabbit. The taste was great in her mouth, no prey had ever tasted to good. She chewed it softly and savored it before taking another larger bit. In a matter of time, she was finished with her part. She sat up, feeling Crossflash's fur rustle against hers a she did so, and licked the last of the taste off her whiskers and around her mouth.

Hookpaw poked his head into the den but didn't dare to enter. His dark green eyes scanned the darkness, searching for Darkheart. When he spotted Blizzardheart eating a rabbit, he mewed sweetly, "Excuse me, but do you know where Darkheart is, Blilzzardheart? I'd like to go training..." he let his voice trail off and gazed beseechingly at the warrior.

Blizzardheart narrowed her eyes at the name of the deputy. She had not yet forgotten Darkheart's words and actions back when she had taken down that fox. For a moment she was lost in thought, wanting to rip Darkheart apart, but she was jolted back to real life with Crossflash's munching. She couldn't resist glaring at the apprentice. But then she softened her gaze and said in an oddly sweet voice,
No, I'm sorry I haven't. Will you tell her I said 'hi' when you see her next though?
Blizzardheart laughed at herself inside her mind. Hopefully Darkheart would get the message and stay away from her. Blizzardheart smiled and waved her tail, dismissing the apprentice.

A warning sensation flickered in Hookpaw's chest, and he quickly noticed that Blizzardheart was using the same sweet voice that he used sometimes. Quickly Hookpaw backed up, dipping his head to the warrior. "I will telll her that. Thank you ever so much," he purred, his eyes narrowed respectfully. Then he left the den to go search for Darkheart and give her Blizzardheart's "message".

Blizzardhearts smile slowly vanished when the apprentice left and she glanced over at the medicine cat. She flicked her ears a little before getting to her paws and speaking.
Crossflash, I think I'm going to go out and hunt. I'll see you later.
With that she dipped her head respectfully and walked out of the den, her eyes flashing angrily with the thought of Darkheart still in her mind.

Right after Blizzardheart was out of sight, Darkheart was seen headed toward the Warrior's den. The deputy was a bit tired. She had been watching Silentwind and Wasppaw in the last few minutes. She had to find some way to get Silentwind alone. It wasn't easy since she had herself an apprentice.
Noticing Hookpaw, a smile curled on her small muzzle. "Hookpaw, we train!" she said as she headed past out of camp. The apprentice had potential, in the way his mind worked the most, but he really need training.

Hookpaw stopped in his tracks when he heard Darkheart. "Oh, there you are," he mewed, trying to be pleasant. "Okay, let's go. Will we learn how to fight today?" He hoped he could learn that; Hookpaw wanted so much to be able to attack and kill!

Silverstreak saw Darkheart talking to Hookpaw as she dropped a piece of fresh-kill in the pile. Selecting a wood pigeon she padded over to the warriors den. She saw Crossflash finishing off a rabbit and greeted the SweetClan medicine cat. "Hello Crossflash, nice rabbit?" Silverstreak then settled down in some moss and began to eat her pigeon.
