MOONSHADOW
don’t hate me because i’m beautiful…
hate me because you never will be
Name: Moonshadow
Age: Four
Gender: Female
Clan: SpiderClan
Rank: I see on the scroll that SpiderClan doesn’t have a Deputy listed…could she be Deputy? If not I’m perfectly content with her as a warrior. -^^-
Description: Moonshadow is a rather odd looking bird…and well, it fits as her personality is somewhat off the mark as well. But we’ll come to that sthingy in the road later, for now let’s focus on the oddities of what the eye can behold. Moonshadow’s pelt is a concoction of cream white overlaid by soft gray stripes that run the length of her shoulders to haunches and, at times, mingle in shadowy splotches here and there in lightly dappled patterns. Her face is marked somewhat like a Mau’s in that she bares the ancient Egyptian eye stripe patterns that run from the corners of her eyes down her cheek bones with two other stripes, one running down in a tear drop pattern beside her nose while the other one curls slightly upwards of her eye-corner stripe and fades into the fur in front of her ears. Her forehead is also marred with soft gray stripes that run down to the bridge of her nose and the backs of her ears are completely colored in that gray tone. Her legs bare short tiger looking stripes that run across her limbs, from side to side, while her tail bares very light rings that break and fade in their patterns. Her fur is mildly long and her tail is quite fluffy though it is also rather long in itself thus making it appear less bushy then it truly is. Her eyes are a deep, cerulean blue and hold a darker threat within them as white coated cats with blue eyes generally go blind…though, as she is not completely white and bares markings perhaps this will not hold true for her. As far as stature goes Moonshadow is well built and lean, poised on her paws and rather acrobatic for all the tree climbing that SpiderClan has grown accustom to.
Personality: Odd…she’s just plain…odd. Though it’s not quite that simple. For a feline it is well expected that you have to be a little nutty to even be a part of this eloquent and complex species however even for a cat she’s slightly fuzz brained. Though this has no infliction on her in the way of skills, smarts, and abilities. Keener and sharper then a raven’s talon, Moonshadow just doesn’t boast her wits nor take the time of day to become irritant and caught all up in the unending buzz of duties and turmoil. Preferring to merely look each day in the face, scoff at whatever brooding and dark plans it has in store for her, insult its mother, and take it out for tea…if only she knew what tea was. But, we’re going on a tangent here. When met with a foe she’ll puff up like a spasmodic dust bunny and rip the life from whatever sorry excuse for a flea motel that decided to get in her way. But honestly, she’d rather be civil and come to conclusions and terms by way of diplomacy then spitting and fighting all day long. But, she does understand that some matters just need to be met with tooth and claw and that not every idiot in the woods has the brain capacity to practice chivalry. And, with all that said, she’s fiercely loyal to her Clan and would eat her own foot if it somehow helped her comrades. Though, as stated before, she doesn’t exactly linger in the clear cut parameters of normalcy and can be found doing anything from singing softly to an infant birch tree to claiming that something called “shoe leather” tastes very disgusting but can cure a stuffy nose in seconds!
History Moonkit was born to a beautiful silver queen named Sweetfur and was the only kit to survive when a raid on the Clan took Moonkit’s only sibling. Later the young male kit who was stolen was to be found dead near the Great Willow. Sweetfur’s agony at the loss was astounding and overwhelming as this had been her first litter and as time wore on her milk grew dry and unnourishing as the grief stricken queen slowly died from the inside out. Eventually Sweetfur died, her will to live (even for the one kit who still was healthy and bright eyed with life) vanished and her body was found near the Great Willow where her son had been found. Moonkit was then adopted by an older queen named Gingertail who nursed the young kit until she was old enough to become an apprentice. Moonpaw was mentored by a large black tom named Duskeye who had only recently been named as a warrior himself. He became her closest friend and at the time of her warrior naming ceremony she and Duskeye had plans to mate and have kits. Moonshadow’s kitting went well and Duskeye even helped to raise the kits, however even the best of things can turn sour and one night while Moonshadow had slipped out from the nursery to share tongues with an elder who had come to check up on her and the kits a fox raided the nursery and killed the kits. Devastated Moonshadow vowed to never kit again for she felt that she was unworthy to be a mother. Duskeye did his best to ease her pain but she refused to be consoled and to this day regrets her selfishness in grief as Duskeye is now dead, killed by a rogue cat during a border patrol.
Now older and more experienced Moonshadow has rebounded from the grief of her youth but still holds solemn to her vow to never bear another litter of kits.
RP Example:
And she sat there…in the rain…like a fool.
She hated rain…loathed it in fact. Like a most hated enemy despised the rain with every fiber of her very being…nay, like the mother of a most hated enemy she detested the very existence of rain and cursed it and all its wet, cold, and utterly horrid wrath to the crowfood of StoneClan! But she would not be put off by it, no no no…not Moonshadow! Not the deputy of SpiderClan, not by the hair on her ears would she move from this spot. She was bound and determined to stay right here, right where the wind tore at her pelt and the storm bombarded her with each new torrent of rainwater. She would sit here merely to spite the rain. That’s right, to spite it! A little storm wouldn’t ruin her day, not in the slightest! And whatever StoneClan elder who’s wrath had sent this storm would have to try a lot harder to dislodge her and her calloused mindset.
The sky snarled and rolled with angry thunder and hot lightning flashes as the storm overtook the SpiderClan camp and devoured the land with a vendetta to scourge the world. The trees rocked to and fro as the wind lashed at their branches and pelted the leaves with ceaseless rain causing them to scatter from the trees in flurries of dark green. Above blackened clouds harbored the storm and lit up every so often with internal lightning, illuminating the heavens and the camp in sudden bouts of electric light. All around her things appeared to be in upheavals of chaos as dirt, leaves, and fur billowed all around the ground and from her position directly in the middle of the camp she could see pairs of eyes glowing out from the dens of SpiderClan.
However, even as the storm raged and hissed and spat above like a snarling dog the long haired she-cat merely sat unflinching as the rain sopped her white and gray marred pelt to the skin. Her eyes were slitted in silent annoyance as she gazed somberly out into the expanse of the storm, her ears flattened to her skull. Not so much in anger or frustration but instead weighed down by the water that logged her pelt and fur.
She could feel the glittering eyes that watched her from the shadows of their dens, probably all utterly confused at her actions but by now they really ought to know that such behavior from Moonshadow was nothing to be surprised at. She’d fight and scorn every last element of nature if she so desired and right now she desired to sit in the rain simply to ignore its very existence.
Made sense, no?
But by StoneClan! How she did hate the rain!
Other: Guess I fancy the word “shadow” in my cat names. This and Shadowfoot will be my only two characters for now. -^^- And if she can be SpiderClan Deputy that’d be AWESOME! But if not that’s perfectly fine as well!
.i’m asking you to die for me.
