Ravencaw was perched on the edge of the Crow's Pit, thinking back to when Crowtail perished in finding it, when he himself was only a kit. His tail slid silently left and right through the loose dirt surrounding it's edge. His emotions swirled inside him, he had gone to visit Leopardsun only a a couple of hours ago, and he missed her already. Her scent still lingered upon his fur, and he breathed it in deeply.
"Why does she have to belong to LightClan?"
The charcoal warrior moaned, looking up to StoneClan for comfort from his dead mother, knowing it wouldn't come. He thought of Magpiekit, and how alone she must feel in SpiderClan... But he had heard that Mirrorstonewas good to her, had a mentor planned already.
He drank in the smell of Leopardsun and the Crow's Pit mixed, nearly coughing in disgust, it was a terrible combination! His long tail snapped in the motion of a whip, showing his clear distaste and annoyance with the situation.

Crashclaw tentatively stepped towards Ravencaw. His steps were silent against the earth. He walked a little low to the ground, but it wasn't like he was stalking or anything. He came up beside the tom and sat quietly next to him, gazing down into the depths of the pit. After only a little bit he turned his head to Ravencaw and sighed.
It's to bad this couldn't have been discovered some other way. I mean, I wasn't alive when it happened, but still.
He thingyed his head, seeing what Ravencaw would say about this, hopefully he wouldn't be to upset about anything Crashclaw had said.

Ravencaw blinked in surprise at Crashclaw's sudden appearance. He glanced at his fellow Clanmate, before returning his gaze to the bottom of the gaping pit. He remembered the day, that terrible day.
"Crowtail! Crowtail, wait up!" Ravenkit bounded merrily after his soon-to-be mentor, racing ahead, "Watch me, Watch me! I'm going to catch a mouse!" the jet-black kit half raced, half wobbled into the new-found territory. "Ravenkit, Ravenkit hold on!" Crowtail called after him, but Ravenkit ignored the tom cat, he wasn't the boss yet. Suddenly, the ground fell away before him, and he tried to skid to a hault, but he was moving too fast and slid straight for the edge, "Crowtail!" he wailed, approaching his death with every second. Teeth gripped his scruff, only to be let go a second later, thrown away from the deep hole. Hitting the earth hard, Ravenkit whipped around, only to see a smudge of black fur plunge into the pit. He leaned over the edge, eyes fixing on the mangled body of his Clanmate. The small SpiderClan kit blinked away stinging tears, throwing his head back and releasing a mournful cry,
"Crowtaillll!"
Ravencaw's gaze was fixed on his paws, and he nodded at what Crashclaw had said, "Yes, it's too bad." he meowed, 'And it was all my fault...', he turned to meet Crashclaw's gaze, "If only something could have been done to prevent it... Crowtail would've made a great mentor."

[ In your RP you said SpiderClan kit by the way ]
Crashclaw thingyed his head and gazed at Ravencaw. He had no idea how Crowtail died, he just knew he fell into the pit. So of course he didn't know Ravencaw had anything to do with it.
Was he to be your mentor?
Crashclaw didn't take to mind that maybe he was prying to far. Although, he probably wouldn't have asked that question if he knew that it had been Ravencaw's 'fault'.

Ravencaw nodded silently, eyes once more locking at the bottom of the pit.
"Yes. Yes he was. I could've been the one to find that pit."
he meowed softly, realizing that it would've been Raven's Pit Crowtail would be staring into, but StarClan chose to take the brave warrior rather than the defenseless kit. That's how it usually came out in the end of every story, wasn't it?
But, if he remembered correctly, it was that incident that drove him to later save the LightClan apprentice, Leopardpaw. The same LightClan she-cat that became Leopardsun, the mother of his three kits, Timepaw, Littlekit, and Magpiekit. B
'But if I had just listened. Crowtail still might be alive, along with Leopardsun and my kits.' he thought, knowing deep inside that the outcome of Crowtail living probably would not be the same as it was now that he was dead.

Crashclaw noticed the hurt in Ravencaw's voice and instantly felt bad for prying into his personal life so much. He too looked down into the pit, the bottom barely seeable from the darkness that the tree's shadows made. He then turned towards Ravencaw, wanting to appologize.
Sorry if I asked to many questions...
His tail twitched and his eyes saddened. What would it be like to lose a could-be-mentor. Crashclaw could also tell he was hiding something else, but he wouldn't ask.

"It's fine."
Ravencaw meowed with a shrug, looking over at his Clan mate.
"I think it's better now that I've talked a bit about it with someone."
Not that Ravencaw had gone into any detail about his role in the death of Crowtail, of how he truely felt about this incident. His eyes flicked back to the gaping hole, locking on the spot where he recalled the place Crowtail had landed. The scene played before his mind's eye, the stinging memory of the SweetClan warrior tumbling to his doom, landing in a muddy, mangled, broken mess.
"I just wish... It could've turned out.. better than it did."
he was not to refer to the fact that is was his fault, because something inside him told him that is wasn't, but something else screamed to StoneClan about what he had done wrong.

Crashclaw turned his head to look at Ravencaw. Words of wisdom were stirring in his mind and he spoke a line of them.
Every cat goes to hunt with StoneClan sometime in his life.
He thought momentarily about how it could have been later rather then sooner, but he didn't mention those words. He sighed and couldn't think of anything else to say.

"True, All cats do."
Ravencaw meowed, knowing Crashclaw had a good point when it came down to it. He looked up to Silverpelt, StoneClan lying within it, knowing theat soon enough, he'd be joining Crowtail as well. BUt that didn't mean he head to fall down a pit to do so. Or have a run-in with a ferocious racoon.
"But, sometimes, it seems that some cats shouldn't. Either they were too great to have been killed, or too dark to deserve a rank in StoneClan. But they are taken and accepted all the same."
He wasn't sure if Crashclaw would understand where he was coming at, because he wasn't all so sure himself what exactly he was talking about.

Crashclaw nodded. Some cats were traitors still got their ticket into StoneClan without a fuss. Did they lose their evil streak, or still have it? And then the cats that were to great. He had heard of the great Owlstone that ruled RockClan to it's best. Yet, he had had to leave them sometime and when he did they fell into dispair. Crashclaw knew exactly what Ravencaw meant. His mother had to leave him when he was so young. Although, she probably didn't go to StoneClan, she was a loner.
Crashclaw instantly became somber and he bowed his head to look into the pit once more. The darkness surrounded him and he shut his eyes, only meaning to do it for a moment, but he didn't open them.
Pictures flooded his mind. A ginger colored she-cat lay, an expression on her face of pure love. Her eyes were laid upon a small ball of fur curled up in her stomach. His eyes were open and looking up at his mother, a playful look in them, but also a tint of sleepiness. It wasn't long at all before Crashclaw realized the small furball was himself. He loved that gaze she used to give him.
The next picture was of Crash playing with his mothers flipping tail, trying so hard to pin it down. Sometimes he got carried away and used his claws. When he poked her with them, she winced, but still smiled. If only she could be here now, she would tell everybody that thought he was useless (which wasn't as many cats now as it was before) and she could love him.
Crashclaw stayed sitting, his head down and his eyes closed. The pictures kept coming and they seemed so real. He was caught up in his past.

Ravencaw gave Crashclaw a sideways glance, before looking back down into Crow's Pit, thinking of Leopardsun, and his kits. He wondered how Timepaw and Littlepaw were doing, and if Magpiekit had been made an apprentice yet. Mirrorstone seemed to be a good leader, though young, and was sure to make her an apprentice soon enough. He heaved a sigh, clearly worried with all the emotions swirling inside him.
Had he done the right thing? Choosing Leopardsun? There were so many other she-cats, ones that he didn't have to sneak out to see.. Did he really love Leopardsun? 'Of course I do!' Somthing screamed inside him, something else scolding the objection and saying that he truely didn't, if he loved her, would he have to worry this much about seeing her?
