The wind buffeted her two-colored pelt against her sides, making the young SpiderClan lower her head against the force of the wind. A little freedom wouldn't do much, after so many days without every departing from the Camp. No warrior's duties had been brought upon her, for which she was bitter.
Even though her heart pounded because of the dangerous message that the wind spoke of, even if one of her denmates spoke into her ear saying, It really isn't a good time to be wandering around, Tinderhaze would not have listened. This had always been her favorite place in SpiderClan territory. The rich luscious apples had often made the ginger and white cat wonder what it tasted like. It was now that she paused, and lowered herself to a sitting position, tail wrapped neatly around her small paws. Pale green eyes were brought up so that she could "stare down" a particularly red apple.
And that's when the tree fell. A large crack was heard, and with that, Tinderhaze spun around - and froze. Oh no... She didn't exactly have the sense to run when she saw it, since it was so... huge... Finally the words came. Help! It was a scream.

OOC: Sorry it's kinda long, got carried away with myself. -^^-
MOONSHADOW don’t hate me because i’m beautiful… hate me because you never will be
The rains were ebbing as the lands grew grave and quiet in the bleak aftermath of the storm, a silent and terrific lull over the territory to pay homage to nature and all her worldly wrath. Brimming over everything and swelling to a dreary extent was the ripe and raw smell of wetness and mildew, a stink that normally followed up mass rain and floods in their wake. It seemed to sop the lands and soak into the very earth with that course scent that made the hair on the back of the cream and smoke gray feline’s neck prick and quiver in response to the overpowering drowning of her keen senses. Water was a thing of both mercy and unbridled rage, giving life in the dewy kiss of lush nourishment and also repossessing it in a grasp of fury. And still, Moonshadow despised anything even passively related to rain with an undying loathing that deteriorated and frayed at the very fibers of her eccentric being.
With dainty, slightly ornery steps, the longhair female sidestepped her way around a rather wide puddle of murky water in which she took a personal vendetta against. Snorting irksomely at the pooled rainwater Moonshadow kept a wary eye upon the subsiding swollen thunderheads that loomed ominously in the sky. Internally daring them to unleash their sodden furor upon SpiderClan territory once again. Already a pit of triumph had nestled warmly within her belly as the storm lethargically rolled away into the SweetClan area and yet, as a few lingering raindrops fell softly from the heavens and began to dot and pelt the land around her Moonshadow hissed angrily at the fat gray clouds. In response a flash of distant lightning lit the gloomy sky and Moonshadow growled with indigence, once again personally insulted by the storm’s protests and slow moving retreat out of SpiderClan territory.
“By StoneClan and all that is decent in this life, GO AWAY! I don’t have time to wash my pelt again!" She snarled wickedly up at the ebbing storm, unsympathetic to its last and weary raindrops as they trickled onto the ground. Thoroughly wishing to stay dry, as every time her fur became wet it was a gargantuan and rather precise (not to mention utterly boring and loathsome) project to wash her coat, the cat dodged out of the receding rain under the sheltering branches of high grounded apple tree, careful to not slip into the flooded portion of the area. Muttering to herself crossly about inane rain, dry fur, and never wanting to be reincarnated as an otter.
Distantly a low rumble of thunder broke across the sky. Leaping to her paws Moonshadow hissed in a threatening manner. "Come here and say that to my face!" Ah, yes, crazy old Moonshadow screaming at the clouds. Probably not the ideal way for a newly appointed deputy to be handling the present situation but hey, what could she say? It was who she was and she’d yowl at every last raincloud, tsunami, tornado, and blizzard if she so wished. Besides, there were other reasons for her appointment as deputy of SpiderClan…her personal vendetta with the weather not being one of them.
Flicking an ear in disdain she decided to let up and see what else was going on in the apple grove and it wasn’t long before she spotted a familiar ginger shape prodding along through the storm winds, pelt clinging tightly to her skin due to the harshness of the lowland wind. Tinderhaze! The cream she-cat’s disposition immediately shifted to a light hearted mood as she picked her way through the muddy area over in the direction of the other feline. However she paused when she noticed a tree near to Tinderhaze that was leaning dangerously awkward, forced against its own grain by the power of the wind. Suddenly there was a loud snapping sound followed by a series of cracks and breaks and for an instant every slowed. The falling tree, Tinderhaze’s fear which stuck her in place, Moonshadow’s own thoughts as they muddled and ran confusingly through her head.
Huh…don’t think that tree’s supposed to do that…
Snapping out of her lull the newly appointed SpiderClan deputy shot forward, yowling at the ginger and white feline and barreling forward like a mad badger. "HEY!" She raced for Tinderhaze and leapt, aiming to knock both her and the ginger she-cat out from under the tree with her body.
.i’m asking you to die for me.

As the ginger and white she-cat fought for breath, she did realize that her breath came far slower than she wanted it to. In her panic, she needed all the gulps of fresh air she could, before her lungs were eternally crushed. As her pale green eyes sparkled with the fear of death, Tinderhaze quickly squeezed them shut. "I will not let you crush me", she meowed sternly to the tree, whose twigs and branches were utterly broken and lain across the ground everywhere. Her voice sounded as though she were talking to a kit - although it would be a rather large kit. Heh. Great way to lighten up the mood when I'm about to die.
As her bright orbs still remained shut, Tinderhaze realized it had taken an eternity for the tree to fall, and that the impact of her fragile body and it's hard weight had been so... light. Wait! She was alive. Impossible! The thought echoed through her mind over and over. How in the world can such a large and dangerous thing be so light? Great StoneClan... As Tinderhaze opened her eyes, she realized that, luckily, it had not been the fallen tree that had blown the breath out of her. It had been Moonshadow. Ah. Her breath was back at last. And it was normal, for the most part. Tinderhaze's ears pinned against her nape, and her head bowed gratefully. But, as formal as this motion was, her words were far from it. Moonshadow!

MOONSHADOW don’t hate me because i’m beautiful… hate me because you never will be
Moonshadow sat herself rigidly upright and began to lick a mudded paw distractedly, washing her ears and gazing at the fallen tree with a wary look from the corners of her eyes. Her tail flicked to and fro frantically for a moment or two before she rose up to all four paws and paced a tight circle with absent minded concentration. Silently reflecting to herself and regaining a mild sense of composure after the sudden, terrifying ordeal at almost being turned into a squashed heap pile of fur and splinters by a seemingly harmless apple tree. Sniffing the humid air the cream and smoke gray she-cat seated herself again and licked vigorously at her chest fur. Her eyes flicked back from the tree to Tinderhaze, ears perked sharply and alert for any other threats that may arise with wrathful surprise. After all, she hadn’t quite expected when she left the camp this morning to almost be made into crowfood by a falling tree.
In fact, the reason for her being out and about on this…fine…(despite the rain, clouds, departing storm, and murderous timber) day was to scout the wreckage and damage done by the storm and find where the rainwaters had flooded. As far as she had gathered Dragonfly Pond was no longer a mere pond and Apple Tree Grove was mostly underwater and neither flood areas seemed to be subsiding anytime soon.
Noting the confusion on her friends face at having been missed by the fallen tree Moonshadow simply grinned with a full-hearted expression and meowed cheerily, though her unease at what had only just taken place was still detectable in her lightened voice. "Hi, Tinderhaze!" She moved to butt heads with her ginger comrade. "Sorry if I interrupted you and the tree but I figured you might not appreciate it falling on top of you like that."
Her eyes gazed around the muddied and flooding grove for a brief moment before they returned to linger upon the other she-cat. "What are you doing out here anyway?" Her gaze flickered back over to the immense amount of floodwaters as she shuddered involuntarily, thinking that the grove was practically useless now in the way of prey and anything else slightly enjoyable. "I mean, swimming is all well and good for a fun pastime…if you’re mildly insane, but still! The falling trees must put a damper on the whole thing."
Her eyes darted around them once more, keen and aware for any other trees who thought it a good idea to go squashing little cats into furry oblivion. Oh yes, she was on to these trees plot alright!

Tinderhaze let Moonshadow butt her already buzzing head, before giving her an affectionate lick on the ear. The answer to her question was a very quick decision. Could Tinderhaze tell the deputy of SpiderClan about her sour attitude towards her "confinement"? The pretty ginger and white fluffball had to. After all, she wasn't just the deputy. She was her best friend. Tinderhaze sighed, hoping to rid herself of these nervous wracks that the tree had given her.
I guess a swim wouldn't do, would it? A small grin lightened the SpiderClan warrior's pale green eyes. I just wanted to have an... adventure. That's all. I mean, I haven't been given any duties as of late, and seeing everyone else creating bonds with their apprentices doesn't give me a warm feeling, either.
